|The Masters Cup Poultry Show, the new standard in purebred poultry shows, slated for November 17th and 18th, 2017 has stirred much discussion and some debate.
There seems to be confusion regarding the judging method for such an event. It is truly quite simple. When you send in your entry for this grand event you will also send in a bio of yourself and/or poultry farm. Upon arrival to Webster City, Iowa on Friday you will go directly to the AmericInn where you be given your individual poultry show packet, including your entry number and bird's numbers. You will go to the exhibition hall, register, prep your birds and coop in. At 6:00pm the exhibition hall will close and all will attend a social event where all questions will be discussed and answered.
Saturday morning, exhibitors will be allowed to do final preparations to their chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, or guineas. Gates will be closed into the show arena and exhibitors will be encouraged to sit in the arena style seating around the show. APA/ABA licensed judges will place the birds, all while Ronnie Lopes (Bermudian poultry breeder and entertainer) emcees the event. Exhibitors and visitors will be able to follow along exactly with the judging and placing as each will have a show booklet that includes the bios of each exhibitor along with their exhibitor number and each of their bird's show number. As the judge is critiquing, Ronnie will announce the exhibitor's number along with the bird's number. At the end of the class being judged the judge will explain the placings. APA/ABA recognized classes will be placed through 6th place. After all birds have been placed the class champions, along with the class reserve champions will be on Champion Row. The judge will choose Show champion, at which point that bird will be replaced with the reserve champion and the third place class champion will move into the reserve champion spot. The top birds will be selected and everyone will know exactly why the birds were placed the way they were.
Saturday evening will bring a formal dinner with socializing and fun on the agenda. There will be drawings and awards will be handed out. Please mark this show on you calendar.
